Who we are -Where we are - What we do

National Charity League, Inc. (NCL) begins a new chapter when a core group of mothers and daughters demonstrate support of the mission and vision of the NCL; commit to sharing the workload of establishing a new chapter; and indicate sustained, continued support of the new chapter in the future.

NCL_Stock_1.jpgOur MISSION: To foster mother-daughter relationships in a philanthropic organization committed to community service, leadership development and cultural experiences.

Our VISION: National Charity League, Inc. Chapters will be the premier mother-daughter organization in every state involved in valuable philanthropic, leadership, educational and cultural experiences so that all community volunteer needs are met.

National Charity League, Inc. is currently comprised of 149 Chapters in 15 states nationwide. Our organization is the only mother-daughter volunteer force of its kind serving local communities together.

National Charity League members are mothers with daughters in grades seven through twelve who together indicate an interest in and commitment to community service, leadership development and cultural experiences. The organization strengthens the mother-daughter relationship through the same involvement. National Charity League mother-daughter teams are responsible, dedicated, skilled volunteers actively engaged in local community work.

National Charity League was founded in 1947 in Los Angeles, California. The mothers are referred to as Patronesses and the daughters are called Ticktockers. The mothers and daughters work together, either together or within their age group, in philanthropic and educational activities.

National Charity League has a three-point focus:

  • Community Service: Our desire is to learn what needs to be done in the community and to assist with those needs whenever possible.
  • Leadership Development: Our aim is to provide educational opportunities. This is accomplished by attending and properly conducting meetings and planning and attending educational events. Social skills are enhanced by participating in such events.
  • Cultural Experiences: Our goal is to provide cultural experiences by planning and attending cultural events, choosing a different focus in the realm of fine arts each year.

National Charity League provides experiences that enable both mother and daughter to know the joy of helping others, to learn tolerance and kindness, and to make friends while sharing and participating in these activities.
