Welcome to the Ahwatukee Foothills Chapter, National Charity League Inc.

Patronesses and Ticktockers,

A heart-felt thank you to all of you for attending the Kick-Off meeting this past Sunday. I hope you came away inspired and ready to make it your best year yet in NCL. It was wonderful seeing all the new faces and feeling the enthusiasm in the room. Mimi's speech certainly hit home for me, reflecting on all the good in my life and appreciating my daughters (and others) for who they are. What we do today by volunteering at a philanthropy or simply saying hello to a fellow Ticktocker you may not know – will make us all better human beings tomorrow.

Thank you for filling out your “Patroness Committees” sheets - it looks like we are off to a great start. If you happened to miss the meeting, well, we missed you too! It is not too late to sign up for a committee – please see the list of committees below. One of our goals this year is to have the majority of our membership (moms and girls) becoming involved or taking on a leadership role. The best way we can teach our daughters leadership, is to model it ourselves. Let me know where you can help.

Lastly, don't forget to log your 2 league hours under “General Membership Mtg” and if you brought diapers – .5 off site St. Vincent de Paul philanthropy credit. Don't forget to mark your calendars for our upcoming Patroness Only social at Jody Harwood's home on Sept 29th – hope to see you there!

Nominating Committee - This committee will work with Parliamentarian, Lyn Nachazel and will be involved with the slating for the Ahwatukee Foothills Chapter Board of Directors for next year.  This committee will meet in January.

Video/DVD Committee - Do you enjoy watching the videos at the Senior Presents luncheon and think that is something you could help create?  Or would like to learn how to put a DVD together?  Work with Pamela Henrichsen, VP Communications.

Silent Auction/Raffle Committee - We need members who would like to help organize donations for the Holiday Tea and Senior Presents.  Work with Heather Musgrove from Ways and Means.

“Mothers and Daughters Shining Together”

THE NCL, Inc. Mission:
To foster mother-daughter relationships in a philanthropic organization committed to community service, leadership development and cultural experiences.

By living that mission, NCL has been making a difference for many decades. For example, our Chapters provide the equivalent of nearly $18 million in volunteer hours annually in support of local philanthropies. Membership is a privilege and carries responsibilities beyond participation in a Chapter and involvement in a local community. The relationship between the National organization and the local Chapter members is mutually beneficial; it honors the prestige of a nationally recognized brand and provides for lifelong friendship and networking.

That is why consistency is the watchword of the NCL brand and is the foundation, structure and secret to assuring our ongoing success. By promoting the same identity across the country, NCL Chapters can own the strategic long range Vision of our organization, which is:
  THE NCL, Inc. Vision:
National Charity League, Inc. Chapters will be the premier mother-daughter organization in every state involved in valuable philanthropic, leadership, educational and cultural experiences so that all community volunteer needs are met.
Membership in NCL gives mothers and daughters unique opportunities to strengthen their bond while growing together, sharing of themselves and improving their communities. Ours is the only National organization committed to fostering the mother-daughter relationship through philanthropic, leadership and cultural activities together and in peer groups.
