Manhattan-Hermosa Chapter of National Charity League Inc.
The Manhattan-Hermosa Chapter of National Charity League Inc. was established in 2009. National Charity League, Inc. is a national mother-daughter organization dedicated to serving the communities in which chapters are formed to foster the mother-daughter relationship. Our goal is to promote a sense of community responsibility in our daughters and strengthen our bond while growing together, sharing of ourselves and improving our community. The daughters along with their mothers participate in a 6-year educational program of philanthropic work, leadership training, educational activities and cultural events.
Philanthropic Work
Each chapter of National Charity League, Inc. considers the local community's needs and then selects philanthropies to support. Support comes in the form of time and organizational skills. The Manhattan-Hermosa Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. has philanthropic partnerships with the following organizations: Children's Dental Health Clinic, the City of Manhattan Beach, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank,
1736 House Family Crisis Center, Heal the Bay, County of Los Angeles-Public Library, the Richstone Center, the Sierra Madre Float Association, Adopt A Family, Any Soldier, Gardena Willows Wetlands and The Jimmy Miller Foundation.
Leadership Training
The leadership training program teaches basic leadership skills such as; Organizational Skills, Team Building, Parliamentary Procedures.
Educational Activities
Educational activities are designed to teach the daughters to be self-assured in social settings, to demonstrate good manners and to respect others. Typical activities may include:Personal growth training, exploring career development, mother -daughter teas and luncheons.
Cultural Events
Cultural events help develop community awareness and cultural sensitivity. Typical events and activities may include: Plays, Concerts , Museums, Symphonies, Operas, Ballets and Dance Performances.
