About Our Chapter

Mission Statement

To foster mother-daughter relationships in a philanthropic organization committed to community service, leadership and cultural experiences.

About Outer Banks Chapter

Our chapter was conceived in 2001 and has been serving Carteret County ever since.  We began with just 16 committed women and have grown to 85 mothers and almost 100 daughters.  Outer Banks Chapter serves 14 different philanthropic organizations and over the years has logged in thousands of volunteer hours.  In fact, just this past year we reported 6,872.5 hours of service!  Our Philanthropies are quite diverse and represent many facets of Carteret County life.  Our membership also gets many opportunities to develop their leadership skills.  Each member has a job to do- even our girls.  By the time they graduate, they will have held many offices and positions.  It is our hope that this training will carry over into the rest of their life.  Lastly, we feel it is important to expose our membership to the many cultural experiences that our area has to offer.  Each year every class attends at least one cultural event.  Last year, one of our classes traveled to Raleigh to view the Monet exhibit, while another class attended a local production of Nutcracker Suite which showcased some of our members.

Our membership drive begins in October.  We will accept mothers of rising 7th graders.  Depending on existing class size, we often accept mothers of daughters in the rising 8th, 9th and 10th grades.  If you are interested in our organization, please let us hear from you by linking to Contact Us  on the Home page.

Remember, we are mothers and daughters serving the community together.
