Clean up and beautify a stretch of county roadway located at Louetta Road and Ella Blvd. to Spring Cypress Road. Come join the fun and help keep our community beautiful!
Applause Theater
Applause Theater is located at 6608 FM 1960 W between Champions Drive and Cutten Road. The NCL volunteers will work as ushers or concession help. Users meet and greet the guest, take tickets, hand out programs, seat guest. Concession volunteers sell drinks, snacks, gifts, and show grams. This is a great way to see the local talent in our community and support the local theater.
Atria Assisted Living Center
This lovely assisted living community is located at 6611 Cypresswood. NCL members help out the community by calling Bingo numbers and helping the members with their cards. Members also help by serving ice cream after Bingo. The other opportunity at Atria is working and visiting with their memory care residents. NCL Wildflowers interact with the residents by assisting with arts and crafts, playing board games, and balloon volleyball.
Barbara Bush Library
The library is located at 6817 Cypresswood Drive. The NCL Wildflowers help shelve books, check in and out books, assist with various library events, patron count, and much more.
Bridges Community Center
Bridges Community Center Apartments is located at 15915 Kuykendahl Road, just north of FM 1960. This is a community center that the Wildflowers donated their time every Friday during the summer months. We serve lunch, snacks, read, play games, crafts, supervise computers, and participate in all types of learning activities. This community center is for the under privileged in our community and the Wildflowers always brighten their Fridays! The Wildflowers also have a school supply drive for this facility in August.
Craft Fair
This is a special day in the fall that we bring all of our Ticktockers and Patroness together on a Saturday and make different crafts to benefit several of our philanthropies. The Wildflowers make blankets for Linus project, crafts for NAM, Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministries, Atria, Heartland, Houston Hospice, and Keep Pace. This is a great day to help all of our charities and spend time with our special NCL group.
FACE
Cypress Creek Foundation for the Arts and Community Enrichment brings fabulous quality performing arts to our backdoor! No more trips downtown for quality performing arts! FACE brings the Houston Symphony, Irish dancers, childrens musicals, and many free Saturday events for families. You wouldn't believe the variety. Check out their website online @ www.cypresscreekface.org. The wildflowers support FACE by providing event ushers and counting, boxing, and delivering flyers announcing their events through local elementary schools. For families with tight budgets, FACE free series may be their only access to the fine arts! FACE enriches our community in many ways, and we are happy to support it.
Habitat for Humanity
This location varies depending on the building site. The NCL Wildflowers provides lunches to the groups building the homes. We set up, serve, and clean up! A great way to help the community!
Heartland Healthcare
Heartland Healthcare is located at 13631 Ardfield Drive. The Wildflowers assist with Bingo and visit with the members of the community every other Saturday.
Houston Hospice
The Wildflowers bake homemade cookies for Houston Hospice every week. These cookies are delivered every week to various centers for families to enjoy during their difficult time. The Wildflowers also at Christmastime wrap books at Barnes and Noble and all donations are given to Hospice.
Keep Pace Infant Program
Keep Pace is located at 11920 Walter Road. Keep Pace serves children from birth to three years of age with developmental delays and disabilities. NCL Wildflowers provides childcare for parent groups and playgroups during the summer. We also participate in the Carnival and Transition Nights. All of our members that volunteer at Keep Pace have a special training course.
Linus Project
The Wildflowers make blankets for children in the surrounding hospitals that have a special need. The Ticktockers learn to cut material and sew. We also make the fleece tying blankets.
Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM)
The Wildflowers help out in many ways at NAM. Food Pantry is located at 15555 Kuykendahl. We fill grocery bags with food for recipients, fill baggies with rice, soap, salt, etc, and stock shelves. Meals on Wheels is another opportunity at NAM is where you deliver meals to home bound people in need or that are ill. The Resale Shop is located at 2580 FM 1960. At the Resale Shop the Wildflowers sort, tag, price, and hang clothes. Throughout the year the Wildflower’s help out with Back to School Drive, Food & Toy Distribution at Christmas, and Interfaith Quilting in the Spring.
Pearl FincherMuseum
The museum is located at 6815 Cypresswood Drive. The NCL Wildflowers help with Family Days and on Saturdays. We help with school tours and special events. This is a beautiful museum and a chance for some cultural exposure.
Race For The Cure
This is the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event in Houston, Texas every October. Members participate prior to the race by helping with registration, packaging race material, etc. On the day of the race, the Wildflowers help out at 4:00 am. blowing up balloons and other race preparations. This is a great event that has touched so many of our members! Come join the fun.
Special Olympics
Activities take place at many different locations throughout the area. The NCL Wildflowers assist with special needs athletes to improve sport motor skills and socialization. The sports include bowling, track and field, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and golf.
Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministries
This is located at 300 W. Main Street in Tomball. There are four opportunities at TEAM. Food Pantry is a summer activity only where we assist with stocking shelves and filling orders. The Resale Shop we assist with tagging, folding and rearranging and sizing racks. The Wildflowers also adopt families by grade levels each Christmas and shop at their November meetings for their adoptive family. The Ticktockers shop, wraps, and delivers their gifts to their special family. There are many food drives held throughout the year to benefit TEAM.
The Village at Gleannloch Farms
This is the Wildflowers newest addition to their philanthropy list. This is a lovely continuum care community. We assist with special events, Bingo, birthday parties, and crafts. There are three areas to volunteer independent community, assisted living, and memory care.
