You may be asking yourself: what’s a ticktocker? No, it’s not someone involved with the app. It’s not a fun nickname for a clock. It’s an advisory council formed by the National Charity League (NCL) and overseen by Xavier Prep senior Maryn Day.
Maryn has been involved with NCL since seventh grade and was selected to join the Advisory Council this fall.
Ticktockers are the youngest members of the league, a philanthropy program for mothers and daughters in grades 7-12. The national nonprofit has over 295 chapters in 32 states, including ten local branches across the Valley.
Maryn’s passion for making a difference goes back to her elementary school years in Girl Scouts. Many of her fellow troop members joined the NCL, and she was inspired to do the same.
“I have always loved charitable work, and this presented a unique opportunity to explore new charities with a group of girls and our mothers,” Maryn said.
