About Our Chapter

NCL, Inc., Golden Gate Chapter is a group of mothers and daughters who have come together in a commitment to community service, leadership development and cultural experiences.
Members shall reside in or attend school in the city of San Francisco. Like all NCL, Inc. Chapters, Golden Gate aims to foster the mother-daughter relationship by serving its communities together.

The Golden Gate Chapter of NCL, Inc. was started in June of 2016 and became a fully chartered Chapter in April of 2018. Today over 300 active members join together to focus on empowering future women leaders through community service, leadership and cultural connections.

Interested in joining our chapter?  A Prospective Member must be sponsored by a current member of our chapter.  Membership opportunities are dependent on Chapter openings.

Each NCL, Inc. Chapter promotes social awareness by considering the local community’s needs and selecting appropriate non-profit organizations to serve.  Each Chapter then supports its philanthropic service partners through different volunteer activities.

National Charity League, Inc., and the Golden Gate Chapter are committed to empowering young women to be future leaders with purpose!

Golden Gate Chapter members have opportunities to engage in experiences that build essential skills, such as confidence, team building, event planning, conflict resolution and parliamentary procedure.

Each year of membership offers new opportunities for both Mothers (Patronesses) and Daughters (Ticktockers) to accept new challenges and learn new skills in a supportive environment. Ticktockers are encouraged to take on leadership roles in their respective grade levels, and Patronesses share their talents in chapter leadership roles.

Our members practice parliamentary procedure and conduct an annual nominations process to elect the chapter and grade level officer positions. We train our officers for success and mentor them throughout the year through our organized Peer Mentoring Program. It is this ongoing yearly support which exposes our daughters to various leadership styles and personalities from our adult peer mentors that help our daughters realize their fullest individual leadership potential.

In addition, we offer and host several meetings during the membership year and invite outstanding speakers at both the grade and chapter level.


Cultural Experiences

As future leaders, we continually strive to build stronger ties with our communities and the individuals within them. It is through this understanding that we grow and develop broader worldviews that will shape and support our lives.

Mothers and daughters of each class attend a cultural experience together with a focus on different areas of art, theatre, dance and music.

Each Chapter celebrates the richness of its history through traditions that honor the past. The Mother Daughter Tea is an NCL, Inc. tradition. Today, NCL chapters around the country continue to embrace their long-standing traditions, as well as, create new ones.
