About Our Chapter

NCL, Inc., Desert Cities Chapter is a group of mothers and daughters who have come together in a commitment to community service, leadership development and cultural experiences.
Members shall reside in La Quinta and surrounding Desert Cities. Like all NCL, Inc. Chapters, Desert Cities aims to foster the mother-daughter relationship by serving its communities together.

 

Welcome to the Desert Cities Chapter of National Charity League, Inc.

Desert Cities chapter of National Charity League, Inc. was founded in June 2005.

We became a Charter Chapter in April 2007.  Our chapter serves La Quinta and its surrounding areas, primarily east valley Desert Cities, including Palm Desert, Indian Wells, Rancho Mirage, and Indio.

At the heart of our organization are mothers and daughters working together to serve our chapter’s permanent philanthropy partners.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

If you are interested in joining our chapter, please review the information below.

Prospective members need to be sponsored by a current member of the National Charity League, Inc. (NCL) Chapter they wish to join. If you know someone in NCL, talk to her about our Chapter’s boundaries and membership obligations.

We understand and serve communities in partnership with local and national nonprofits. Each NCL, Inc. chapter promotes social awareness by considering the local community’s needs and selecting appropriate non-profit organizations to support through different volunteer activities.

Each NCL, Inc. Chapter promotes social awareness by considering the local community’s needs and selecting appropriate non-profit organizations to serve.  Each Chapter then supports its philanthropic service partners through different volunteer activities.  Philanthropies supported by our Chapter include:

 

Philanthropy is the heart of our organization.  Mothers and daughters volunteering together help serve our chapter’s chosen philanthropy partners and projects earn philanthropy hours.

 

Leadership Development

We build capable, courageous leaders through opportunities to learn, reflect and develop. Our leaders become successful in their education, career and communities by learning the necessary skills during their NCL experience.

Desert Cities NCL Members have opportunities to engage in experiences that build essential skills, such as confidence, consensus and team building, event planning, conflict resolution, and parliamentary procedure.

We preserve National Charity League traditions and core values, while appreciating the growth that comes from connecting with different communities and cultures. We continually strive to build stronger ties with our communities and the individuals within them. It is through this understanding that we grow and develop broader worldviews that will shape and support our lives.

Annual Fashion Show at Senior Recognition Modeled by our Juniors. Teaching them poise, elegance, grace, in a fun atmosphere.

Outings to local McCallum Theatre to see performances.

Excursions to Oak Glen Pumpkin Patch and Riverside Inn Holiday Lights Display

Adventures to Sunnylands Gardens
