Spirit of St. Louis

About Our Chapter

NCL, Inc., Spirit of St. Louis Chapter is a group of mothers and daughters who have come together in a commitment to community service, leadership development and cultural experiences.
Members shall reside in the Greater St. Louis area Like all NCL, Inc. Chapters, Spirit of St. Louis aims to foster the mother-daughter relationship by serving its communities together.

The Spirit of Saint Louis Chapter was founded in 2023 by nine women and has experienced rapid growth since its inception. It is the second National Charity League (NCL) chapter in the Saint Louis community. For over 20 years, the Gateway Chapter of NCL has been active in the area, highlighting the interest in enriching the NCL program, which led to the establishment of the Spirit of Saint Louis Chapter.

Our chapter is composed of approximately 114 Patronesses (mothers) and 134 Ticktockers (daughters), all dedicated to hands-on volunteer service for over 20 philanthropic organizations. Our areas of focus are diverse, covering health care, underserved communities, individuals with disabilities, veterans and armed forces, the park system, the elderly, and more.

Our members represent 21 zip codes and 31 schools, demonstrating our commitment to diversity. Members consist of daughters in grades 7 through 12.  We have proudly achieved over 10,000 hours of community service since our chapter was founded in 2023!

Our three core pillars are philanthropy, leadership, and culture. Each member is dedicated to growth in these areas, with specific membership requirements. Additionally, members must reside in the Greater St. Louis area. In line with the goals of all NCL chapters, the Spirit of Saint Louis Chapter seeks to strengthen the mother-daughter bond by serving the community, raising social awareness, and promoting civic responsibility. Requirements for all members include dedicating hours to leadership and philanthropy as well as regular meeting attendance.

Each Ticktocker class engages in a comprehensive six-year leadership program. All members hold assigned roles that help foster responsibility, respect, and interpersonal skills. Cultural activities provide members with diverse exposure, covering topics such as the arts, financial literacy, and empowerment.

All chapters work diligently to elevate the mission, values, and core principles of NCL.
