National Charity League is a nonprofit organization comprising mothers and daughters who volunteer for community service projects over six years, beginning when the daughters are in seventh grade. Founded in 2009, the Orchard Valley Chapter has grown to nearly 300 members. Members support more than 20 local philanthropies, devoting approximately 5,000 volunteer hours in the past year.

In addition to fostering a culture of giving back, the organization develops leadership skills. Mothers and daughters each have a job within the chapter, and the program offers opportunities for growth.

Mothers report seeing benefits from volunteering with their daughters.

“NCL is important to me because my daughter and I become even closer while giving back to the community,” said Nancy Wiley, one of the grade-level advisers.
