NCL Surf Cities Chapter holds ‘Rom-Com Runway’ fashion show

The Surf Cities Chapter of the National Charity League held its annual fashion show on Oct. 22 at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido. The theme was “Rom-Com Runway” and the girls showcased several contemporary looks that gave a nod to some of the most popular romantic comedies, according to a news release.

Didi Gur, who co-chaired the event, said in the news release: “The class of 2026 girls wanted to convey a theme that represented fun, silly, feminine and romantic, so naturally they landed on ‘Rom-Com Runway’ to combine their love of romantic comedies showcasing female heroines and their iconic outfits worn in the movies with the catwalk fashions. Inspirations from Cher and Dion from ‘Clueless’, and Elle Woods from ‘Legally Blonde’ were just some of the examples our very talented stylist, Kristi Brookes, showcased on the runway. Using fashion as a means to express their uniqueness while exhibiting poise and confidence helps them get ready for the world beyond high school.”…
