Two sold-out nights at Lumen Field means more than 140,000 fans will head to Seattle’s SODO neighborhood. Swift is breaking records with her tour and using her influence in philanthropic ways. She has supported her fans, donating to food banks, PETA, UNICEF and the Red Cross. Her huge fan base is following closely, and Seattle could benefit in many ways.

Swifties from National Charity Federation stop to volunteer at Northwest Harvests SODO . Community Market on Friday.

“We are lucky to have dedicated volunteers and today we have some Swifties in the house!” Jeanie Chunn told Northwest Harvest.

The SODO Community Market serves as a free grocery store where anyone facing food insecurity can drop by to buy food and essentials without having to pay when they leave. National Charity League (NCL) volunteers supported today’s market as guests stopped by to buy packaged foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, etc. NCL is a national nonprofit that encourages mothers and daughters to serve their communities together. The organization donates nearly 3 million hours to more than 6,000 charities around the country. It is estimated to make an impact worth $86 million per year and empower the girls of today to be the leaders of tomorrow.

Leslie and her daughter, Bailey, are among the volunteers today. They represent the Lake Washington Chapter of the NCL.

“I joined NCL with my daughter because I did it with my mom when I was growing up, and it’s really important to give back to the community that served us and participated,” says Leslie.
