National Charity League, Inc. Texas Pearl Chapter donates more than 300 books to advance literacy

Rockwall, TX (February 13, 2024) National Charity League, Inc. (NCL), the nation’s premier mother-daughter nonprofit organization, has a unique program designed to empower members to succeed as confident, well-rounded contributors to society while making a positive impact in the communities they serve. The National Charity League, Inc. Texas Pearl Chapter participated in NCL’s third annual “National Day of Service”, held on January 15, 2024, also recognized as Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Day of Service.

To honor Dr. King’s legacy, this year’s focus on literacy was a dynamic way to address a critical need in local communities. According to the latest literacy survey by the National Literacy Trust (NLT), almost one in five children between the ages of five and eight do not have a book of their own at home.
